Hi, I'm Tory Silverwood.

I'm an interior designer in commerical healthcare. Throughout my career, I've spent hours creating material palettes, working with beautiful commercial upholstery fabrics. Along the way, I was very aware that thousands of fabric memo samples are constantly being discontinued and discarded, despite being perfectly usable.

I started collecting these fabrics and giving them a second life. Partly because I'm part ferret and like to hoard materials, and partly because I'm a slut for color & texture.

At Silverstitch, I transform reclaimed upholstery memo samples from the commercial design industry into handcrafted bags and accessories. Each piece is made to order, and sewn by hand using fabrics that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

Because every fabric is unique, no two pieces are exactly alike. I carefully curate my collection of textures, colors, and patterns, and accommodate custom color preferences to create something that feels personal and one-of-a-kind. I enjoy making new products, and have transitioned into making clothing - so let me know if you have an idea for something new.

Silverstitch is where my love of color, craftsmanship, and sustainability come together. Every bag tells a story - not only the materials it was made from, but of the creativity and personality in making it. Each bag is also extremely durable, because commercial furniture is made hardy.
